Sorry for the late reply, on holiday last week.

Call me a Luddite if you like, I would be sorry to see it go as I only use Facebook under duress

I would like the forum to stay as I will not use Facebook.

From what I understand they are organised slightly differently anyway so following a topic on the forum would be easier.

Posts on here are mainly sensible and grammatical (well reasonably so). Disagreements are generally polite. There's a refreshing lack of the irritating misspellings and word-confusion that is rife on FB. All good reasons to retain the site.

The lack of posts the last year is enough of a reason to call it a day and close this site down. People only like it because of the anonymity. Like it or not, the Facebook sites have taken over.

OK folks, I have renewed the domain for another 12 months and will review the situation this time next year.

I'll agree to that. Unfortunately??? no political issues can be raised. I have seen a forum on a social history site where political history (miners' strike) has come up which spoils it for everybody. No discussion of the group interest: people leave in disgust. So perhaps no politics is a wise condition? But current issues???
